Provides technical assistance and/or <br />training for Assessor and Tax Office staff in the use of computer hardware and software. Conducts <br />research and compiles findings for various government agencies, other outside agencies and in-house <br />management staff. Performs lead clerical/accounting duties requiring thorough knowledge of laws and <br />procedures relating to tax collection; applies regulations to individual situations; processes and maintains <br />a variety of records and documents. Performs detailed recordkeeping and provides considerable <br />customer service assistance by e-mail, at the counter and on the telephone. Represents Marion County <br />at Magistrate Division of the Oregon Tax Court. Performs related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the supervision of the Tax Office Supervisor, who sets goals, assigns work, and reviews <br />performance for conformity with departmental and legal requirements <br />> <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises lead responsibility over other employees engaged in duties related to tax collection. May be <br />required to train other employees to assist with various processes in the office. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Serves as Marion County representative for the assessment and taxation data exchange <br />community; creates and transmits files necessary to comply with the data exchange <br />agreements (i.e., audit files, duplicate request files, tax bill summary files and the delinquent files); <br />receives and processes bill request files; receives, processes and balances the payment files from <br />each lender. <br />2.Serves as the liaison between Marion County Tax Department and the bank payment processing <br />center; ensures use of proper form layout; coordinates the dates of testing, service and <br />downloads; processes and balances payment file transfers. <br />3.Studies and makes recommendations regarding departmental records management in order to <br />plan, organize and perform a variety of complex duties necessary for the initiation, maintenance <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
