<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Epidemiologist <br />Class Code: <br />507 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$28.32 - $37.92 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 03 TechniciansHealth and Human Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Under direction, incumbents in this classification will analyze, report and disseminate data to describe the <br />health status of populations as well as other data sets; will provide technical assistance to internal <br />program evaluation processes; will serve as a data analysis consultant to public health programs to <br />ensure quality of data collection and analysis; and will provide surge capacity to or be a member of the <br />team responsible for communicable disease investigation and control. The Epidemiologist I may <br />represent the Health and Human Services Department at community meetings. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a manager or supervisor, who assigns work, establishes goals <br />and reviews results obtained. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, may act <br />as lead over projects and or team. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Collects, analyzes, reports, and disseminates data on community health indicators, determinants <br />of health, community themes, health system assessment, health access, and forces of change. <br />2.Develops public health risk assessment models; makes recommendations for health policy <br />changes based on findings from local epidemiological studies and research. <br />3.Supports Marion County Public Health Division quality improvement efforts by tracking and <br />reporting progress on quality initiatives and quality assurance audits; participating as part of the <br />Public Health Quality Council; and using public health accreditation measures as a framework for <br />achieving optimal quality. <br />4.Actively participates and provides technical assistance to public health program evaluation and <br />planning. <br />5.Develops, implements, analyzes and reports department and community surveys. <br />6.Supports the Marion County Public Health Division grant application process by providing data and <br />data interpretation to describe statement of need; and providing technical assistance in forming a <br />plan for evaluation; and by facilitating a grant application review process to ensure complete, high- <br />quality applications are submitted. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
