<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Chief Deputy Assessor <br />Class Code: <br />335 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,798.40 - $3,751.20 Biweekly <br />$6,063.20 - $8,127.60 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt01 Officials and AdministratorsAssessor <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Manages, coordinates and supervises the appraisal, tax collection and technical functions of the County <br />Assessor's Office; responsible for implementation and compliance of all statutes and administrative rules <br />relating to all functions in the Assessor's Office; performs joint administration of staff for the Assessment <br />and Taxation computer system; jointly administers departmental budgetary process which includes <br />development and implementation. Acts in same capacity as Assessor according to ORS 308.005. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general direction of the County Assessor who provides direction and establishes goals <br />for the Assessor Department. This is an unclassified position that serves at the pleasure of the <br />appointing authority. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises direct supervision for all appraisal section supervisors, Tax Collection Office staff and special <br />projects staff. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.As a member of Executive Management Team. Manages the overall appraisal, tax collection and <br />statistical analysis functions of the County Assessor's Office, assigns work projects, monitors work <br />flow and develops and implements departmental policies and procedures. <br />2.Reviews and interprets Oregon Revised Statutes and State Department of Revenue Administrative <br />Rules; determines impact of new legislation on Assessment and Taxation. Testifies before the <br />Legislature. Insures implementation and compliance of all related statutes and administrative <br />rules. <br />3.Provides product management of the Assessment and Taxation computer system, jointly directs <br />the Assessor's and Tax Collection Office technical staff in the Administration of the Assessment <br />and Taxation hardware/software and GIS applications and coordinates the installation of other <br />outside agencies such as cities, counties, etc., to the Assessment and Taxation system. <br />4.Directs and supervises technical staff in the development of the countywide ratio study program; <br />prepares reports, special records and summaries for the State Department of Revenue and other <br />governmental agencies. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
