<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Family Intervention <br />Therapist <br />Class Code: <br />178 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$26.96 - $36.17 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 02 ProfessionalsJuvenile <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />The Family Intervention Therapist provides direct and collateral services to medium-high and high-risk <br />youth and their families who are on formal probation. This position works with parents, youth and other <br />family members in a voluntary program providing skill building, intervention and therapy services primarily <br />in the family home, utilizing evidence based programs and modalities. The Family Intervention Therapist <br />conducts formal assessments to establish appropriateness for participation in this program. The Family <br />Intervention Therapist may also provide crisis intervention to their clients and others in the program. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a supervisor who assigns work establishes goals and review the <br />results obtained for overall effectiveness. May also work with a clinical consultant, who will provide <br />guidance and feedback on clinical practice. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, <br />incumbents may exercise lead responsibility over related staff and practicum students. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides family, parent and youth assessment, skill building and therapy based on the Family <br />Check Up, Everyday Parenting and other evidence based, trauma informed curriculum. This <br />position is also responsible for assessing the appropriateness of the youth and family for the <br />program and for providing crisis services. <br />2.Meets with parents, youth, and other family members in their home and in the community to <br />provide services and intervention. This may involve working evening hours. <br />3.Works in collaboration with the youth, their parent/guardian and other family members to identify <br />strengths and areas to address, developing a joint plan for teaching skills, overseeing role-plays <br />and practice, assigning and reviewing work to practice in between sessions. <br />4.Works with resistive and reticent clients using techniques such as collaborative problem solving <br />and motivational interviewing. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
