<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Database Administrator <br />Senior <br />Class Code: <br />669 <br />Bargaining Unit: 08 - Marion County Employees <br />Association (Information Technology) <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,905.60 - $3,892.00 Biweekly <br />$6,295.47 - $8,432.67 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt03 TechniciansInformation Technology <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Coordinates and provides a wide variety of complex professional level work in the analysis, design, <br />installation, configuration, implementation, administration, problem solving and technical optimization of <br />complex database systems and database management software in mixed and client server <br />environments; provides complex and responsible technical support for database management systems <br />and related system software to ensure database quality, integrity, and performance; coordinates with <br />systems and technical support staff; oversees the technical design and development of complex <br />databases; performs other complex and responsible technical tasks relative to the administration of the <br />Marion County databases. This classification differs from the Database Administrator in having greater <br />experience and depth of knowledge in complex and large-scale database application support (i.e. <br />Provides Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) administration and support). <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Information Technology Manager who assigns and reviews <br />work for conformance to established policies and procedures. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of others is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, an employee in <br />this classification may assume lead work responsibility over others in a lower classification including <br />provision of guidance to the database administrator. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides installation, configuration and administration of the county's major database systems and <br />complex third party vendor database products; design, size and install tables within the context of <br />the database and platform on which it operates. <br />2.Establishes and modifies complex databases, coordinates with systems, operations and technical <br />support; ensures database quality, integrity, and performance. <br />3.Provides complex technical assistance and training to support Programmer Analysts and <br />contractors in the development, testing and implementation of applications with primary focus on <br />system impact. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
