Maintains and secures the operation of these systems <br />and plans for or accommodates their growth and expansion. Does related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of an Information Technology Manager who assigns work, <br />establishes goals, and reviews work for conformance to technical and department standards and in <br />compliance with department goals. Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in <br />this classification; however, may exercise lead direction over technical and support staff. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Work is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility <br />under the direction of a Network Analyst 3. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This classification series includes Network Analyst 1, 2 and 3. The Network Analyst 2 has considerable <br />knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of network systems and <br />administration. This classification is the journey level in this series. Assignments require evaluation, <br />originality, or ingenuity. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Administers large Windows and Novell local area networks with multiple file, application, and print <br />servers as well as routers, switches, and wireless devices. <br />2.Monitors the enterprise network while resolving client concerns and operational problems. <br />3.Works with Network Analyst 3 in assessing the capacity and future needs of the enterprise network <br />in order to maintain network efficiency and recommends enhancements to the supervisor. <br />4.Coordinates and performs network installations and major upgrades, including both hardware and <br />operating system software.
