<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Information Technology <br />Deputy Director <br />Class Code: <br />599 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$3,572.80 - $4,788.00 Biweekly <br />$7,741.07 - $10,374.00 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt01 Officials and Administrators Information <br />Technology <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Serves as the second-in-command of the Marion County Information Technology Department, <br />responsible for the development and management of staff and customer relationships; for the design, <br />development, release, and maintenance of technology systems and services to meet county goals and <br />objectives. Directs and manages assigned day to day operational activities required to deliver technology <br />services. Participates in defining and establishing long-range strategic plans at both the departmental and <br />county-wide level. Acts for the director in their absence, as well as represents the director in an official <br />capacity, as required, on all departmental matters including local, regional, state, and professional <br />meetings. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under general supervision of the Information Technology Director who assigns work, establishes <br />goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness through the analysis of work products, <br />observations, and meetings. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercise supervision over administrative, management, and technical positions. Participates in the <br />selection of new personnel, demonstrates effective leadership and sound management principles, <br />including coaching employees to meet or exceed performance standards. Provides for training and <br />professional development, evaluates and develops performance standards to support technical service <br />offerings, and responds to grievances or disciplinary matters. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Assists Information Technology Director in defining clear objectives for county technology services <br />as part of long range strategic planning and near term planned delivery. <br />2.Evaluates and recommends new information technologies that inform the department's strategic <br />roadmaps. <br />3.Works directly with department heads and elected officials to provide clear business solutions that <br />meet county goals and objectives. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
