<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />County Surveyor <br />Class Code: <br />310 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$3,084.00 - $4,130.40 Biweekly <br />$6,682.00 - $8,949.20 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Acts as the county surveyor in carrying out the statutory and daily operational duties of that office. <br />Develops the vision, goals, objectives, policy and processes of the surveyor's office; administers all of the <br />office, GIS records management, and field operations of the County Surveyor's office; administers and <br />assigns survey work to deputies, right of way agent and other staff; administers operations ensuring that <br />county and other survey work done by Land Surveyors conforms to survey map standards, Oregon <br />Revised Statutes and Oregon Administrative Rules. Assignments require independent performance of the <br />administration of surveying functions; does related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the County Engineer, who assigns engineering projects and <br />helps develop the vision and goals of the County Surveyor's Office. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises direct supervision over deputy, right of way agent, and general supervision over other <br />personnel of lower grade; selects of new personnel, provides training, assigns and evaluates work, <br />evaluates performance, responds to grievances, holds staff accountable, takes disciplinary action and <br />does personnel transactions. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Administers and holds staff accountable for the execution and completion of work on research <br />projects, control surveys, public land survey system, road right-of-way surveys, road legalization, <br />road vacations and land use cases; stamps surveys of record that are prepared under his/her <br />direct supervision. <br />2.Administers and holds staff accountable for checks on work of other surveyors for conformance to <br />survey standards and to Oregon Revised Statutes; approves Partition and Subdivision plats <br />submitted for review to the County Surveyor's Office. <br />3.Administers office and survey records management; insures that GIS systems are in place to meet <br />the customer service goals of the Surveyor's Office. <br />4.Administers employee selection, provides for training, assigns and evaluates performance, <br />responds to grievances, holds staff accountable, takes disciplinary action and does personnel <br />actions. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
