Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />5.Approves the purchase of equipment and performs cost analyses and feasibility studies for <br />equipment and project needs. <br />6.Develops, monitors and administers budgets for county survey needs; administers and analyzes <br />user fees; proposes changes to fees to Board of Commissioners when needed. <br />7.Maintains positive public relations for the County Surveyor's Office. <br />8.Attends public and professional meetings; participates in local, state, and regional organizations <br />related to the functions of the Surveyor's Office; and coordinates interagency programs and drafts <br />proposed legislation. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Bachelor's degree in land surveying or related field; AND <br />2.Six (6) years experience performing survey work; four (4) years of which should have been in a <br />supervisory capacity; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />4.Possession of an Oregon Professional Land Surveyor license within six (6) months of hire is <br />required. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Ability to: administer and manage a County Surveyor's Office, including public assistance, records <br />management, survey/plat review, right of way acquisitions, and field operations; work with staff in <br />developing survey standards, goals and objectives. <br />Thorough knowledge of: professional land surveying principles and procedures; thorough knowledge of <br />applicable statutes governing the conducting of surveys, recording of data and record keeping; <br />knowledge of field and office surveying equipment and survey software; drafting and survey document <br />preparation; knowledge of research relating to surveys, deeds and other records; and ability to deal <br />effectively with the public. <br />ADOPTED: <br />11/99 <br />REVISED: <br />02/02; 01/08; 02/18 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />01/11; 08/17 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
