Under supervision, performs professional corrections casework of a <br />moderately skilled nature with adult clients managing the continuum of services and sanctions in the <br />corrections program; performs duties as a caseworker; performs other duties as required. <br />Upon satisfactorily meeting the experience, knowledge, training requirements, certification requirements, <br />skills, and abilities of a Parole and Probation Deputy, the employee may be promoted to the classification <br />of Deputy - Parole and Probation. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />The Trainee works under the close supervision of a supervisor who provides training, assigns duties, and <br />reviews and evaluates work for conformance to established policies, procedures, and standards through <br />observation, conference, and analysis of work produced. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class; may provide leadership to case <br />aides, interns and volunteers as required. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Prepares written reports and maintains Corrections Information System (CIS) records necessary to <br />the effective operation of the program. <br />2.Responsible for specimen collection and monitoring of offenders' drug and alcohol testing. <br />3.Conducts personal interviews with clients to ascertain risk/need/responsivity issues; develops case <br />plans with clients; maintains chronological case histories; confers with spouses, families, <br />employers, and other service agencies relative to client needs; conducts interviews and <br />investigations of clients on probation, parole, or post-prison supervision. <br />4.Presents facts and evaluation of cases to court; carries out disposition ordered by court. <br />5.Confers with supervisor, other staff, other social welfare agencies, schools, churches, public health <br />agencies, law enforcement agencies, businesses, and others relative to individual cases in <br />outlining treatment and care programs. <br />6.Confers with supervisor and/or senior Parole and Probation Deputy prior to making sanctioning <br />decisions. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
