<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Programmer Analyst 2 <br />Class Code: <br />651 <br />Bargaining Unit: 08 - Marion County Employees <br />Association (Information Technology) <br />MARION COUNTY <br />Established Date: Feb 1, 1999 <br />Revision Date: Jun 6, 2018 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$31.38 - $42.03 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: Non-Exempt EEOC: 03 Technicians Department: Information Technology <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Employees at this level work under general supervision and are responsible for programming, testing, <br />configuring, updating, documenting, monitoring, evaluating and/or supporting mid-level/departmental <br />systems software. Works under general/limited supervision on basic and more complicated routine <br />programming/systems projects with deadlines. Serves as technical consultant to computing <br />professionals, users and department management. Additional responsibilities may include creating and <br />maintaining Geographic Information System (GIS) databases, translating geographic and demographic <br />data. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This classification series includes Programmer/Analyst 1, 2, and 3. The distinguishing features of the <br />Programmer/Analyst 2 include considerable knowledge of programming principles and procedures, the <br />ability to analyze data base applications, clarify specifications, and plan new or modified program <br />applications and/or GIS products. The Programmer/Analyst 2 is considered the journey level in this <br />series. Works under the general direction of an IT Supervisor or Manager who assigns work, establishes <br />goals and reviews work for conformance to technical and department standards and compliance with <br />department goals. Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; <br />although limited lead direction over technical staff may be exercised. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Programs, installs, customizes, documents, monitors, evaluates and maintains systems software. <br />2.Develops systems software from prescribed specifications--i.e., defines, programs, tests, debugs <br />and installs components and sub-components of operating and support systems. <br />3.Troubleshoots, diagnoses and remedies system software problems and failures on assigned <br />systems. <br />4.Configures mechanisms for measuring and measures system performance and efficiency for use <br />in capacity planning. <br />5.Evaluates applications/systems and recommends system software improvements. <br />6.Participates in mid-level strategic planning. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
