Additional responsibilities may include creating and maintaining Geographic <br />Information System (GIS) databases, translating geographic and demographic data, and basic GIS <br />Systems support. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This classification series includes Programmer Analyst 1, 2 and 3. Programmer Analyst 1 is the entry <br />level classification. The distinguishing features of the Programmer Analyst 1 include a basic level of <br />knowledge and ability to analyze data base applications, clarify specifications, assist with planning new or <br />modified program applications and/or GIS products. Works under the general direction of an IT <br />Supervisor or Manager who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews work for conformance to <br />technical and department standards and compliance with department goals. Work will generally be <br />performed under the direction of a higher level analyst acting in a lead capacity. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />Work will generally consist of supporting any of the following duties working in conjunction with a lead <br />analyst. <br />1.Installs, runs tests, assists with updating, modifying and maintaining basic computer programs. <br />2.Investigates and remedies systems software problems and failures as directed. <br />3.Assists with problem resolution among technical staff as related to assigned projects. <br />4.Participates in general systems software support activities. <br />5.Assists with development of software from prescribed specifications as directed. <br />6.Assists in the preparation of detailed specifications, flow charts and diagrams from which programs <br />will be written. <br />7.Assists in the creation of system prototypes; writes, modifies, tests and documents programs. <br />8.May assist other systems staff on coding assignments or projects. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
