<br />5.Oversees, coordinates, and monitors building improvement and construction projects through
<br />regular on-site construction visits; monitors compliance with construction drawings, schedules and
<br />budgeted costs; conducts pre-construction and construction meetings; monitors quality control and
<br />inspection processes; inspects completed work to ensure compliance with all applicable codes,
<br />laws, regulations and contract requirements.
<br />6.Documents final project punch lists, ensures delivery of project warranties and operation manuals,
<br />and resolves contractor issues.
<br />7.Assist in maintaining construction and record document library; complies and records as-built
<br />information from completed construction and maintenance improvement projects; provides up-to-
<br />date prints, as needed for planning and maintenance activities.
<br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
<br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
<br />1.A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Architecture or
<br />Engineering; AND
<br />2.One (1) year of project management experience; OR
<br />3.An Associate Degree (or comparable college course work) in Architectural, Engineering or
<br />Construction technology and 3 years of construction inspection or construction management
<br />experience. Experience must include at least 2 year of construction project management
<br />experience; OR
<br />4.Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training relevant to the position.
<br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
<br />Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license. Must possess, at
<br />>
<br />time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record.
<br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not
<br />>
<br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification.
<br />PREFERENCES
<br />Experience in public sector construction project management preferred.
<br />>
<br />Preference given to candidates with experience using Microsoft Project.
<br />>
<br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
<br />Considerable knowledge of: Practices, methods, common materials, and techniques of the construction
<br />and remodel of commercial buildings and facilities; principles, processes, and methods of construction
<br />project management; general government purchasing and contracting procedures; construction project
<br />scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and reporting; codes, regulations, and laws pertaining to
<br />construction, ADA, hazardous materials, and procurement.
<br />Knowledge of: Mechanical, electrical, and structural schematics and blueprint interpretations; general
<br />methods, practices, and techniques of structural, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance; materials,
<br />tools, and equipment commonly used in construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of
<br />commercial structures; construction and project scheduling; Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and
<br />PowerPoint.
<br />Skills and abilities to: Communicate clearly and concisely with customers, vendors, contractors and
<br />coworkers; recognize and resolve conflicts, challenges, and issues effectively and timely; build and
<br />maintain working relationships with vendors and county employees. Strong organizational and analytical
<br />skills that include the ability to respond to changing needs and shifting priorities while minimizing project
<br />impact.
