<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Juvenile Probation <br />Officer <br />Class Code: <br />201 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$25.69 - $34.45 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSAEEOCDepartment <br />: Non-Exempt : 04 Protective Services : Juvenile <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs professional juvenile case management and supervision while utilizing evidence based <br />practices that are supported by research data designed to achieve identified outcomes established by the <br />Juvenile Department. Performs other duties as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a Juvenile Program Supervisor, who sets goals, assigns <br />caseload and reviews performance by observation and through reports and conferences. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class. However, acts as lead <br />worker over Juvenile Probation Officer Trainees, student placements, and volunteers. If in a lead worker <br />position, may provide guidance to other Probation Officers. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Interviews and assesses the needs of referred juveniles and families; completes assessments; <br />makes referrals to appropriate community and department resources; <br />2.Prepares timely reports and orders for the case record and Court; prepares and presents <br />information regarding clients to the Court; presents dispositional recommendations, supervises <br />dispositions ordered by the Court (ORS 419A and 419C) and provides case management and <br />interventions for juveniles. <br />3.Develop, monitor, and update case plans that include evidence-based practices and components <br />required for grant or subsidy reimbursements to address the needs, strengths and risk level of <br />juveniles. <br />4.Makes contact with victims, negotiates restitution amounts for FAAs, recommends department and <br />court fees, and monitors the collection of all financial obligations. <br />5.Collaborates with public and private agencies and utilizes community resources to develop case <br />plans and juvenile placements, participates in committees and work groups <br />6.May have physical contact with aggressive juveniles or address volatile situations; may respond to <br />emergency or crisis events.
