<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Right of Way Agent <br />Class Code: <br />441 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$24.50 - $32.84 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt 05 ParaprofessionalsPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />This position acquires property rights for road construction and other Marion County Public Works <br />projects and performs other field data collection; incumbents also perform technical engineering or <br />administrative work in analysis, design, construction and operation of public works projects; and perform <br />other related duties as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the County Surveyor, Civil Engineer, or the Engineering Division <br />Manager. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of this classification. However, may act as a lead worker <br />for temporary employees, consultants, engineering technicians, and administrative personnel and take <br />considerable responsibility over multi-project programs. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Coordinate right-of-way projects with county departments, engineering firms, and federal, state, <br />and local agencies; coordinates, tracks, and reviews work of consultants for appraisals and <br />acquisitions. <br />2.Review construction plans to determine property rights required to complete public works projects. <br />3.Perform research on land and property transactions to obtain title chains, deeds, and tax <br />information. Research complaints involving county right-of-way involving vision hazards, work in <br />the right-of-way and special setback areas. <br />4.Coordinates and reviews legal descriptions; prepare documents for legal counsel for county-owned <br />property or property condemnations; prepare written correspondence and reports for Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />5.Determine value of real and personal property; negotiate property rights with owners. Meet with <br />customers in the field for other right-of-way, safety, and traffic complaint issues. Prepare <br />necessary responses after research and data collection, and track for compliance. <br />6.Research road vacations, gate requests, jurisdictional transfers, and withdrawals petitioned for by <br />property owners or initiated by the Board of Commissioners.
