<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Building Maintenance <br />Specialist Senior <br />Class Code: <br />495 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$21.28 - $28.51 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 07 Skilled Craft Business Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />At the expert level performs a variety of maintenance and repair work essential to the function of County <br />buildings to include operation, monitoring, adjustment and repair; and performs other related duties as <br />assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor who assigns and outlines work projects and <br />inspects results for compliance with departmental standards, applicable codes and regulations. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. However, if <br />assigned, incumbents may act as a lead worker over temporary employees, building maintenance trainee <br />or building maintenance specialist employees. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />May perform any of the duties of the Building Maintenance Trainee and Specialist classes in this job <br />series, but distinguished by a primary focus on the duties listed below. <br />1.Performs comprehensive maintenance and repair on HVAC systems, which may include <br />pneumatic and electronic controls, air balancing, fire alarm and smoke evacuation, air handlers, <br />fan powered boxes, heating coils, boilers, hot water heaters, condensing units, exhaust fans, <br />pumps, motors, electronic kitchen hoods, dampers, pipe and duct work. <br />2.Assignment at some facilities may include performing and/or overseeing remodeling, demolition, <br />and capitol improvement projects within County facilities. <br />3.Works closely with the Facilities Analyst to inform the Department Head on contract and bid needs, <br />project outlines, manpower needs, material and time frames for facility projects. <br />4.May assist with the contracting out of small preventative maintenance projects including soliciting <br />bids from contractors, reviewing the project on-site with contractors, and overseeing the work of <br />the selected contractor. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
