Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />5.Assists the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in the operation of mechanical <br />systems and the maintenance of records related to repairs performed. <br />6.May perform administrative functions such as maintaining Work Order System and/or the <br />Preventative Maintenance Program. <br />7.Works closely with the public, managers, supervisors, and staff from other departments. May work <br />closely with outside contractors to ensure that warranty work will be completed. <br />8.If assigned as lead worker, duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting in training, assigning <br />and review of work; prioritizing work assignments; reviewing time sheets; providing input on <br />performance evaluations; arranging for work coverage during absences; providing backup support <br />to staff as needed. <br />9.Performs other related duties as assigned. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or equivalent; AND <br />2.Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment, <br />structures, and HVAC systems found in large commercial buildings. OR <br />3.Six (6) or more years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of <br />equipment, structures, and HVAC systems found in large commercial buildings; OR <br />4.Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training relevant to the position. <br />5.Note: Preference given for possession of a State of Oregon Apprenticeship and Training Council <br />Journeyman's card for one of the following trades: Stationary Engineer, HVAC/R, Plumber, <br />Millwright, and Welding or closely related trades. <br />SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS <br />Some positions may require an Oregon HVAC/R or Oregon Limited Maintenance Electricians card. <br />> <br />Some positions may require a CFC card. <br />> <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Possession of, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Class C Oregon driver's license. If in <br />> <br />possession of a current out of state driver's license, must obtain Oregon driver's license within 30 <br />days of hire. <br />Possess and maintain an acceptable driving record. A copy of the driving record for all qualified <br />> <br />applicants will be obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles. <br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />> <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />Final candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Journey level knowledge of: the principles of physical plant operations. <br />Considerable knowledge of; methods and techniques used in carpentry, plumbing, tile setting and <br />painting; heating and cooling systems found in large commercial and public buildings; the trades of steam <br />fitting, boiler repair and operations, plastering, arc and acetylene welding. <br />Substantial skill & ability to: read, understand and work from blue prints and schematic diagrams; to plan <br />and organize work; work from written and oral instructions; perform skilled tasks in the repair and <br />maintenance of furniture, fixtures and mechanical devices; use and operate hand and mechanical tools <br />necessary to building and mechanical maintenance; develop, establish and maintain effective and <br />professional working relationships with other employees, tenants, the public and other agencies; provide <br />training to others; give and prioritize work assignments; identify, report and/or correct malfunctioning <br />equipment and seek out opportunities to improve the maintenance, security and efficiency of County <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
