Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />and fire personnel of road conditions and/or road hazards in areas where they are requested to <br />provide assistance. Contacts emergency response agencies to share necessary information for <br />coordination of response. Shares road and weather reports to crews. <br />3.Answers general inquiries from the public, county staff, and outside agencies regarding road <br />maintenance, construction projects, and a variety of public works programs, including access <br />permits, project schedules and winter emergency work. Logs constituent complaints and notifies <br />crews or managers for follow up. <br />4.Monitors high water closures, general road closures; ferry closures (repairs, inclement weather, or <br />construction work); herbicide application schedules, and distributes info to the community by press <br />release and other multi-media communication tools; updates public works website with current <br />projects and road-related activities. <br />5.Researches operations staff time, equipment, crew sheets, and project lists to create, compile, and <br />assemble data and cost accounting information needed by other divisions of public works for cost <br />recovery purposes. <br />6.Administers the adopt-a-road program; trains new groups in established procedures and safety <br />measures, processes contracts, composes annual correspondence for changes when needed; and <br />maintains all program equipment. <br />7.Uses the computer mapping system, road book, GPS; ETU, RazTrac (electronic vehicle tracking <br />system) and electronic map galleries to track and respond to vehicles and crew locations and to <br />respond to utility one-call requests; and reviews, edits and submits updates and changes required <br />to the mapping database (map gallery). <br />8.Takes minutes for miscellaneous department meetings, specifically for safety committee and <br />department monthly safety meetings; prepares agendas and distributes minutes and reports. <br />9.Assists employees with injured worker forms – processes information through to Marion <br />County Risk Management; tracks and monitors work-related injuries and employees on modified <br />duty; maintains records for all job-related injuries and accidents; prepares statistical and narrative <br />reports; assists Safety Coordinator in special projects. <br />10.Conducts safety inspections; inspects and restocks first aid stations and keeps safety supply <br />inventories current; tracks quarterly inspection summaries. <br />11.Enters data and maintains mandatory MSDS safety sheets for use in getting critical chemical info <br />to field crews and office staff in emergency situations; maintains updated safety plans (i.e., <br />evacuation) and participates in the development of the safety program work plan. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school or equivalent; AND <br />2.At least two (2) years of general office experience, including one year of experience utilizing a <br />variety of computer software programs. Applicants with experience using radio communications <br />equipment are preferred; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license.
