<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Law Clerk <br />Class Code: <br />931 <br />Bargaining Unit: 09 - Temporary Employees <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$15.30 - $20.54 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />            ***BARGAINING UNIT: 09 - TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES*** <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt06 Administrative SupportDistrict Attorney <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs legal research, assists in case/trial preparation, processes intake, maintains a caseload, and <br />makes court and grand jury appearances; does related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the District Attorney or his/her designee who assigns duties and reviews work for <br />effectiveness through conferences and analysis of written material. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to the following <br />1.Researches legal issues and drafts written memoranda for motions and/or trials. <br />2.Assists attorneys in preparing and/or trying cases. <br />3.Completes paperwork necessary to the intake process. <br />4.Maintains a caseload (if a certified third year law clerk). <br />5.Makes court appearances including arraignments, settlement conferences, grand jury, hearings <br />and trials (if a certified third law clerk). <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Bachelor degree; AND <br />2.One (1) year of law school. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
