<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Office Specialist 4 <br />Class Code: <br />013 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$20.32 - $27.20 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt 06 Administrative SupportMultiple Departments <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs a variety of specialized administrative support duties and advanced clerical, including <br />coordination of administrative details for various projects and programs; coordinating newsletters and <br />reports; conducting independent research; responding to routine communications, inquiries, and issues <br />on behalf of the department head or administrator; confidential correspondence; manages the <br />administration of a department or agency-wide continuing project(s) or program; performs other related <br />work as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general oversight of a program manager or department head, who assigns work, <br />establishes goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness through the analysis of <br />performance, reports and conferences. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; however, may <br />exercise lead direction over other clerical or office staff. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />The Office Specialist 4 is the senior level in the series. Incumbents provide support to a department head <br />or act as an administrative project manager over department or agency-wide projects or programs. <br />The Office Specialist 4 is distinguished from Office Specialist 3 by the performance and accountability as <br />an administrative project manager, or breadth in senior administrative support and authority. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />May perform any of the duties of the OS 1, OS 2 or OS 3 classes in this job series, but distinguished by a <br />primary focus on the duties listed below: <br />1.Provides executive-level support to a department head, including performing extensive and <br />complicated statistical and legal research on technical or administrative issues with department- <br />wide impact; developing reports, summaries, and recommendations based on research; and <br />formulating and conducting special surveys to determine feasibility of possible new programs and <br />services. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...7/9/2020 <br /> <br />
