<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Budget Analyst 2 <br />Class Code: <br />087 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,055.20 - $2,756.00 Biweekly <br />$4,452.93 - $5,971.33 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: Exempt EEOC: 02 Professionals Department: Multiple Departments <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs difficult budget and financial analysis work, manages complex, multimillion dollar budget, <br />including fiscal monitoring of grants and subcontracts, and numerous budget projects; may manage the <br />department's purchasing, accounts payable and receivable functions; reviews, tracks and makes <br />recommendations on the fiscal impact of all department purchase orders, payments and contracts. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of a higher level administrative or professional employee who <br />assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness through the <br />analysis of performance, reports and conferences. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification, however may <br />exercise lead responsibility over other fiscal staff. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This class is distinguished from the Budget Analyst 1 by size of budget, scope of assigned responsibility, <br />quantity of additional budget projects or contracts and level of complexity required for budget <br />management work. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Manages complex, multimillion dollar budget, including all fiscal aspects (drafts, projections, <br />incremental proposals) of department's annual budget process. <br />2.Conducts orientation and training on the budget process, including preparation, understanding and <br />managing budgets, for managers and supervisors. <br />3.Reviews all budgetary requests for additional funds and advises management on fiscal impact and <br />affordability; calculates cost projections and performs analyses. <br />4.Tracks revenue sources monthly against current project or program budgets; prepares variance <br />reports; calculates annual carryover of funds. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
