<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Budget and Grants <br />Manager <br />Class Code: <br />319 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$3,084.00 - $4,130.40 Biweekly <br />$6,682.00 - $8,949.20 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsFinance <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Works directly with the Chief Financial Officer and Budget Officer in planning, organizing and supervising <br />the countywide budget process. Assists in compiling the annual county budget from initial budget <br />adoption through the various budget amendments. Provides budget and financial analysis as needed and <br />advised Budget Team on budget issues and recommendations. <br />This position oversees countywide grant compliance by providing technical expertise and coordinating the <br />planning, development, oversite and implementation of the grant process. Advises Chief Financial Officer <br />of any grant related issues, including new compliance standards, and ensures county policies and <br />procedures comply with those standards. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer who establishes goals and reviews <br />results for conformance to department standards and legal requirements. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Provides supervision, direction, and leadership for technical and professional staff. Selects, trains, and <br />evaluates personnel; provides for staff training and professional development; works with employees to <br />correct performance deficiencies; and implements disciplinary procedures as needed. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Prepares the overall County budget under the direction of the Budget Officer. Performs complex <br />and technical accounting and analytical work in support of the countywide budget preparation, <br />including analysis of budget assumptions and alternatives. Reviews, analyzes and consolidates <br />department budget requests. Formulates budget recommendations and provides support to the <br />Budget Officer, Budget Team and Budget Committee. Makes formal presentations to the public <br />and the Board of Commissioners. <br />2.Assists in budget administration throughout the fiscal year; coordinates the processing of budget <br />amendments through the supplemental budget process; monitors actual activity in relation to <br />projections; researches and analyzes projected future revenues and expenditures.
