<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Civil Engineering <br />Associate 1 <br />Class Code: <br />305 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$26.96 - $36.17 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 02 ProfessionalsPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Applies a wide range of civil engineering principles and methods in carrying out assignments. Utilizes a <br />variety of oral and written skills to communicate with county personnel and the general public. Work <br />requires flexible hours including evenings. Performs other related duties as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the supervision of the County Engineer, Senior Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineering <br />Supervisor, Capital Projects Manager or designee. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision is not a responsibility of positions in this class. However, incumbents may occasionally act <br />as lead worker. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This is the second level of a four-level series. Employees complete basic to moderately complex <br />assignments designed to continue training and development in specialized engineering disciplines. <br />Employees typically have gained experience in applying engineering theory, principles and methods and <br />complete assigned work without close supervision. <br />Employees in this classification exercise moderately independent technical judgment in work <br />assignments where they have experience. They may decide methods, identify deficiencies in plans, and <br />correct errors without first referring them to higher authority for approval. Employees carry out <br />assignments and investigations that require resourcefulness and originality. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Develop or assist in the development of RFP/Q solicitation documents for engineering services <br />and participates in the evaluation and selection of consultants. <br />2.Writes contract specifications and prepare cost information; may schedule work; field check <br />progress; assists with negotiating change orders and approving payment requests. <br />3.Performs fieldwork at Department sites as needed to facilitate site operations and ensure <br />compliance with appropriate regulations. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
