<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Contracts Specialist <br />Class Code: <br />307 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$24.50 - $32.84 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br /> Non-Exempt 05 ParaprofessionalsMultiple Departments <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Develops, coordinates, and processes contracts ensuring legal, policy, and procedural compliance. <br />Assists department in preparing requests for proposals (RFP's) and bids. May perform department-wide <br />purchasing functions. Performs other duties as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of department management who establishes goals and reviews <br />work for conformance to departmental standards and legal requirements. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class. However, may serve as a <br />lead worker over personnel in department for purchasing and contract maintenance issues. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />This class is the first level of a two-tier classification series. The size and dollar volumes of contracts, the <br />level of monitoring and auditing responsibility, and the complexity of financial analysis required distinguish <br />this class from the Senior Contracts Specialist. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />Contracts Duties <br />1.Develops, coordinates, and processes the department's contracts and agreements including <br />negotiating, writing, auditing, analyzing budget impacts, and monitoring department's compliance <br />with rules, statutes, and policies and procedures. Amends contracts based upon changes in <br />contract amount, service type or special conditions. <br />2.Prepares request for proposals or routine letters of agreement between the department and other <br />county departments, government agencies or outside parties; acquires quotes, conducts bidder's <br />conferences; participates in review of contractor proposals. <br />3.Prepares advertisements, bid documents, paperwork, and correspondence to vendors and <br />recommendations to Business Services for the Board's approval. <br />4.Monitors and audits contractor compliance. <br />5.Coordinates the maintenance of all department contract document records, including required <br />support documentation. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
