<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Electronics Technician <br />Class Code: <br />453 <br />> <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$24.50 - $32.84 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 03 TechniciansPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />The Electronics Technician 2 performs routine and complex installation, repair, and service of <br />communications systems and electronic control devices throughout the County. Confers with department <br />officials regarding radio requirements and installation. Confer with and advise municipal incorporated city <br />officials throughout Marion County regarding radio network requirements and installations. Prioritize work <br />requests in the absence of the County Emergency Manager and to perform other related duties as <br />assigned. This position works with considerable independence as the highest journey level technician in <br />this classification series. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the County Emergency Manager who assigns work and reviews <br />performance for quality and quantity. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification; however, acts as <br />lead worker over assigned personnel in the Electronics Technician classification series. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Prioritizes and schedules work requests in the absence of the County Emergency Manager and <br />oversee the work of technicians engaged in installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of radio, <br />telephone, video, and other electronic equipment. <br />2.Confers with department officials regarding radio requirements and installations; recommends <br />purchase of parts, supplies, and equipment to keep the radio system in operation. <br />3.Confers with and advises municipal incorporated city officials throughout Marion County regarding <br />radio network requirements and installations; recommends radio system equipment, parts, <br />supplies, and procedures. <br />4.Facilitates interagency networking of individual radio systems for interagency incident <br />communications.
