<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Facility Security Aide 2 <br />Class Code: <br />143 <br />Bargaining Unit: 05 - Marion County Law <br />Enforcement Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$21.75 - $28.60 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 04 Protective ServicesSheriff <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Under general supervision, regulates access to areas within the corrections facility; enforces the policies <br />and procedures associated with adults in custody/visitor conduct and movement within the <br />facility. Performs related duties as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works independently with general supervision of a Corrections Sergeant who assigns work, establishes <br />goals, and reviews results obtained for conformance to sheriff's office standards and overall <br />effectiveness. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Maintains continual observation of deputies in multiple adult in custody living units to provide <br />critical support specifically in the event of an emergency or risk to the deputy and for the overall <br />safety, security, and orderly operations of the facility. <br />2.Observes activities and individuals within an assigned area of the corrections facility. Utilizes direct <br />visual scans and closed circuit television monitors to identify potentially serious situations and <br />adult in custody rule violations. Takes prescribed action. <br />3.Operates touch-screen access control devices. Monitors audible alarms and other visual/ auditory <br />surveillance systems in order to respond appropriately and in a timely manner to situations as they <br />occur. <br />4.Communicates with other staff via two-way radios and intercoms. <br />5.Regulates access by adults in custody, civilians, and staff to assigned areas by remotely opening <br />and closing electronic doors to assist in maintaining security and safety within the facility. <br />6.Verbally interacts with and visually tracks individuals or groups of adults in custody or civilians <br />within the facility.Inquires about identity, purpose, and destination, and notifies staff of expected <br />activities and movement within the facility. <br />7.Accesses and inputs data in various computerized systems and databases. <br />8.Initiates and maintains neat, accurate, and complete reports; maintains a logbook of activities and <br />checks. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
