Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />9.Assists in coordination of personal and professional adult in custody visits within the secure <br />perimeter of the facility. Monitors adult in custody visits and phone calls utilizing visual and auditory <br />senses. Initiates audio recordings when appropriate. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school; AND <br />2.Two (2) years of employment experience which included utilization of a computer; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Ability to pass a background investigation. Must be free of criminal convictions, except for minor <br />> <br />traffic violations. <br />Working knowledge of and experience with computers and keyboarding is required. May be <br />> <br />required to pass skills assessment test(s). <br />Positions in this classification may be required to work rotating shifts, subject to call back, or other <br />> <br />alternative work schedules. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge of: Criminal justice system and role of Correctional Facility (county vs. state); differences <br />between linear and direct supervision models; common day-to-day operation activities of a Correctional <br />Facility (e.g., laundry, visiting, security checks, head counts, etc.); and appropriate emergency <br />procedures. <br />Ability to: Accurately observe adult in custody activities and behaviors; accurately discern a variety of <br />voice transmissions and alarms; exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions in emergency <br />and non-emergency situations; follow and enforce written policies/procedures/instructions; respond to <br />emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner; operate different types of security or emergency <br />related equipment; effectively communicate in both oral and written form, including the ability to keep <br />accurate records and prepare complete and accurate reports; operate a desktop computer with various <br />software programs and other office equipment; multi-task for extended periods of time; and, maintain <br />effective working relationships with co-workers, other agencies, and the public. <br />ADOPTED: <br />06/95 <br />REVISED: <br />11/99; 06/03; 12/09; 08/11; 12/19 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />12/09; 11/15; 03/18 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
