<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Fleet Shop Supervisor <br />Class Code: <br />434 <br />Bargaining Unit: 02 - Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$2,420.80 - $3,240.80 Biweekly <br />$5,245.07 - $7,021.73 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt 07 Skilled CraftPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />This classification is responsible for the supervision of the County Fleet staff in the maintenance; repair <br />and overhauling of all machinery utilized by the County Public Works Department and the county-wide <br />light duty fleet and pool cars. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Administration Division Manager who assigns work and <br />reviews performance for quality and quantity of work done. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises full supervision over all employees who maintain and repair vehicles, machinery, and the <br />Wheatland and Buena Vista Ferries. Participates in the interviewing and selection of new personnel; <br />provides for training, evaluates performance; responds to complaints; and recommends personnel <br />transactions. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Directs and coordinates all aspects of the county's fleet maintenance activities in general overhaul, <br />maintenance and repair of machinery, construction equipment and smaller vehicles and includes <br />repair of the Wheatland and Buena Vista Ferries. <br />2.Responsible for the analysis, evaluation and preparation of the Shops and consolidated Fleet Fund <br />budget; administers and monitors expenditures of program budget; authorizes payment of <br />invoices. <br />3.Supervises work requiring a high degree of mechanical aptitude and prior experience in cost and <br />performance analysis and reporting. <br />4.Trains staff on how safely maintain vehicles and equipment in an efficient and effective manner. <br />Manages contracts, surplus property sales fleet inventories, and related contracts <br />5.Manages and assists in the preparation of specifications for equipment purchases and related <br />materials, short and long range equipment plans, and specifications for amount of petroleum <br />products. <br />6.Supervises the purchase of parts and services required to maintain the county fleet, including <br />budgeting and cost accounting for materials and services. <br />7.Supervises the auctioning, disposal and inventory of department equipment and materials. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
