<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Health and Human <br />Services Administrator <br />Class Code: <br />535 <br />Bargaining Unit: 10 - Department Heads <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$4,614.40 - $6,184.00 Biweekly <br />$9,997.87 - $13,398.67 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt01 Officials and AdministratorsHealth and Human <br />Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Directs the Health and Human Services Department in providing and purchasing behavioral and public <br />health services. The department services include nursing services in both public health and behavioral <br />health; medical services in public health and behavioral health; communicable disease treatment and <br />investigation; vital statistics; maternal child health services, including family planning, prenatal and <br />nursing home visits; environmental health; mental health services for adults and youth, which include <br />counseling, case management, high fidelity services, and 24-hour staffed crisis service; alcohol and drug <br />treatment including detoxification, residential and methadone; broad array of prevention services and <br />developmental disability services for children and adults including case management, employment, <br />residential and family support. <br />The administrator is expected to apply a high level of creative and developmental thinking by identifying <br />high level policy issues and developing response strategies for the board; originating and implementing a <br />broad range of proposed programs and initiatives that start as a vision or concept; negotiating various <br />levels of participation by business leaders in partnerships with the county; and creating a high level of <br />support and participation by state and local government officials, community leaders and the public. This <br />is an unclassified position that serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer who provides general policy and <br />program guidelines and evaluates performance through conferences and observation of results obtained. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Exercises full supervision through administrative hierarchy over the employees in the Health and Human <br />Services Department; selects new personnel, provides for training, evaluates performance, and responds <br />to grievances. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Defines the concepts, methods, and administrative procedures for planning, coordinating, <br />evaluating, and conducting the functions of the Health and Human Services Department in <br />accordance with applicable regulations, ordinances, and statutes. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
