Demonstrates <br />leadership, management, and innovation in the effective and efficient delivery of programs and services; <br />develops and implements department strategic plans, goals, and objectives. Facilitates the development <br />of prioritized information requirements and establishes countywide practices and standards for hardware, <br />software, and information technology and telecommunication services. Responsible for the development, <br />implementation, and maintenance of applications and systems, information technology center operations, <br />data network, and telecommunications capabilities. This is an unclassified position that serves at the <br />pleasure of the appointing authority. <br />The Information Technology director must have high level skills and abilities in leadership and <br />management, human relations, organizational behavior, and management practices, including planning, <br />organizing, directing, motivating, and decision making; requires exceptional skills in verbal and written <br />communication; analysis and policy development. Management and supervision includes planning and <br />assigning work, motivating staff to work effectively and efficiently, directing and monitoring work flow, and <br />holding staff accountable for results. This position requires skills not only in managing employees, but <br />also in relating with local government officials, business and corporate representatives. <br />The Information Technology Director must possess advanced skills in interacting with department heads, <br />elected officials, community members, and business representatives. The director must possess <br />excellent strategic, policy development, and managerial skills; experience in human relations, <br />organizational behavior, management principles and practices including planning, organizing, directing, <br />motivating, and decision-making; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer who provides general policy and <br />program direction and assesses performance through observation and evaluation of results obtained. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Provides supervision for all professional, supervisory, and technical staff within the information <br />technology department. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
