<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Juvenile Relief Worker <br />Probation <br />Class Code: <br />218 <br />Bargaining Unit: 09 - Temporary Employees <br />MARION COUNTY <br />Established Date: Nov 1, 2011 <br />Revision Date: May 1, 2015 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$19.96 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 04 Protective Services Juvenile <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Monitors juvenile offenders in the daily activities in a juvenile probation program; performs related work as <br />required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direct supervision of an administrative supervisor who assigns work; establishes goals <br />and reviews work for conformance to established standards and statutes. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. May oversee the <br />duties of volunteers assisting in the programs. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides orientation for incoming youth and assists them in making the initial adjustment to the <br />facility or program; provides ongoing direction to youth; acts as a positive role model for youth; <br />attends to daily needs of juveniles. <br />2.Prepares paperwork required by policy for juvenile offenders; supervises and writes evaluations of <br />individual juvenile's behavior and performance as observed by daily contact and supervision <br />methods including daily grading/scoring; writes behavior/incident reports as required. <br />3.Assists in the intake process at detention and shelter care facilities; may conduct pat and strip <br />searches; assesses whether juvenile is in need of medical attention; secures juvenile's personal <br />effects, currency, and contraband and issues receipt; prepares necessary paperwork. <br />4.Maintains order and respect for authority; observes and anticipates potentially hostile behavior of <br />juvenile of-fenders and takes necessary preventative action. <br />5.Responds to emergency situations and interacts to diffuse aggressive situations; handles difficult <br />and specialized discipline problems by using corrections techniques and established disciplinary <br />controls. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
