Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />6.Ensures safety, reports improperly functioning building apparatus and faulty equipment; cleans <br />facilities, clothing, bedding and equipment as needed; performs minor equipment and vehicle <br />maintenance. <br />7.In specific programs, leads youth in work-related and community projects with agencies and the <br />recipients of the service work; performs physical labor necessary to accomplish projects. <br />8.Works a variety of hours; may work different shifts or weekend hours on a variable schedule; <br />remains alert and observant during shifts; is punctual in reporting for shifts. <br />9.Transports or provides for transportation of juveniles as needed. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Two (2) years of college course work; OR <br />2.Two (2) years experience (paid or unpaid) working with youth; OR <br />3.Two (2) years trade-related experience directly related to the position; OR <br />4.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENT <br />Possession of a valid Class C Oregon drivers license. (This requirement may be modified under <br />> <br />exceptional circumstances.) <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY <br />Depending on program area, not all skills listed below will be required. <br />Knowledge of: juvenile behavior and corrections techniques used in working with juvenile offenders; <br />knowledge of minor equipment maintenance; knowledge of outdoor skills (such as wood cutting or <br />carpentry) or the ability to learn such skills. <br />Ability to: learn juvenile laws in the State of Oregon; knowledge of security procedures and first <br />aid; implement techniques with juvenile offenders in a group setting; communicate effectively with <br />juveniles, coworkers and supervisory staff both in oral and written form; understand and follow oral and <br />written instructions; ability to keep records; develop effective working relationships with other agencies, <br />coworkers and the public; use sound, practical and fair judgment in assessment and decision <br />making; drive a motor vehicle; work on a flexible schedule. <br />ADOPTED: <br />11/01 <br />REVISED: <br />11/06; 04/07; 05/15 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
