Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school, or equivalent; AND <br />2.Three (3) years of experience in automotive, truck, diesel engine and heavy equipment repair and <br />maintenance; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Must possess, or obtain within three (3) months of hire, a valid Class B, CDL Oregon driver's <br />> <br />license. Must possess, at time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />> <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />Must be able to pass a physical examination by a county appointed medical doctor and have good <br />> <br />physical agility. <br />Final candidate must pass a drug and alcohol screening test. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Considerable knowledge of: the standard practices, materials and methods used in maintaining, repairing <br />and overhauling automotive and construction equipment; diesel powered equipment; hydraulics and <br />electrical circuits; general knowledge of the use of computer diagnostic equipment and scan tools in the <br />repair and tune-up to emission controls of today's automotive and heavy equipment. <br />Skill and ability to: perform automotive and equipment service and repair in the field, under adverse <br />weather conditions when required; in the use of tools and in the operation of equipment employed in <br />motor repairing and adjusting; skill in locating and adjusting defects in equipment; lay out, plan and work <br />from sketches; work from oral and written instructions; maintain records of work completed; establish and <br />maintain good working relationships with coworkers and the public. <br />REVISED: <br />09/81; 02/89; 04/93; 12/93; 04/04; 11/15 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />01/12; 05/18; 08/19 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
