<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Mechanic Senior <br />Class Code: <br />435 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$22.23 - $29.79 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 07 Skilled CraftPublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Responsible for assigning, monitoring and inspecting the work of one or more employees. Monitors fleet <br />job order status to ensure work is completed. Makes quality control decisions for parts replacement, <br />repair, and adjustment based on cost efficiency and safety. Monitors the preventative maintenance <br />program. Keeps records of inventory, work schedules, materials used and inspection reports. Performs <br />other related duties as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Fleet Shop Supervisor who assigns work and reviews <br />performance for quality and quantity of work done. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. The incumbent is <br />a lead worker over technical and semi-skilled employees. Lead worker responsibilities include the <br />reviewing of work, organizing, planning and scheduling work assignments, participating in interviews and <br />making recommendations for selection of new personnel, providing training, and providing input on <br />employee performance evaluations. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Assign, monitor and inspect the work of one or more employees; establish and maintain a project <br />list to be completed during slow periods. <br />2.Identify equipment problems and determine customer needs. <br />3.Monitor job order status to ensure work is done completely, accurately, and in a timely manner. <br />4.Perform all levels of repair and service. <br />5.Make quality control decisions for parts replacement, repair, and adjustment based on cost <br />efficiency and safety. <br />6.Monitor the Preventative Maintenance program to ensure all services are performed accurately <br />and timely. <br />7.Ensure that all work is done in compliance with pertinent regulations (i.e., OSHA, DEQ, EPA). <br />8.Provide technical advice and guidance to employees on issues concerning equipment repair <br />and/or replacement. <br />9.Update daily and weekly computerized work reports. <br />10.Keep records of work schedules, materials used and inspection reports. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br /> <br />
