Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />11.Investigate complaints related to area of responsibility. <br />12.Advise the Fleet Shop Supervisor of personnel issues, internal operating budget and other <br />technical aspects. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Associate's Degree in automotive technology or related educational equivalent from an accredited <br />technical school, trade school or institute; AND <br />2.Four (4) years of experience of increasingly responsible experience in the service and repair of <br />automobiles, light duty trucks, and heavy equipment. Experience must include at least two (2) <br />years of experience with heavy equipment used for road maintenance and as a lead <br />worker/foreman; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. Prefer experience as a lead person of a crew. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Class A Oregon driver's license, within 30 days of hire. <br />> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Knowledge of: methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in vehicle and heavy equipment <br />maintenance, inspection and repair; design and operation of motor vehicle and equipment hydraulics, <br />accessory power equipment and computer control systems; occupational hazards and safety precautions <br />applicable to vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair; federal, state, and county regulations <br />applicable to maintenance specifications, safety, and environmental quality; basic math; recording <br />keeping techniques; and customer service techniques. <br />Skill and ability to: operate a computer and business software; good written and oral communication <br />skills; lead and motivate a crew to develop interest and efficiency in their work; develop schedules and <br />time/cost estimates for preventative maintenance program; inspect, maintain, and adjust light, medium, <br />and heavy duty vehicles and equipment; operate a variety of tools and equipment to repair and adjust <br />vehicles and equipment; establish and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and the <br />public, and crews; and produce related business reports. <br />ADOPTED: <br />12/98 <br />REVISED: <br />12/11; 11/15 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />01/12; 05/18; 08/19 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/3/2020 <br />
