<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Parts Specialist <br />Class Code: <br />437 <br />Bargaining Unit: 06 - Marion County Employees <br />Association <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$17.82 - $23.85 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 08 Service MaintenancePublic Works <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Under general supervision, to perform duties related to the purchase, storage and inventory of regularly <br />needed parts, supplies, and materials for Public Works; maintain accurate records and inventory; <br />researches and makes purchases via the Internet for new materials or products; and performs other <br />related duties as assigned. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the direct supervision of the Fleet Shop Supervisor or the Assistant Fleet Supervisor who <br />assigns duties and evaluates work performance and effectiveness. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of employees is not a responsibility of positions in this class. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Receives parts and supplies; checks items against shipping document to insure count is correct. <br />2.Takes and maintains inventories; marks supplies with stock numbers. <br />3.Picks up and delivers parts. <br />4.Cleans parts room and keeps stock in order. <br />5.Inputs stock orders in computer system; codes bills for cost accounting; keeps daily price checks <br />on items ordered; and keeps records of items that are special orders as to receipt date. <br />6.Uses catalogues to order parts and supplies of autos, trucks, heavy and industrial equipment; and <br />codes bills for cost accounting. <br />7.Assists Fleet Specialist in completing license and title transactions. <br />8.Reviews completed work orders to ensure that all parts charged to the work order are listed, <br />makes adjustments as needed, and closes the work order. <br />9.Works with machine shops to get parts made according to required specifications. <br />10.Makes purchases in accordance with Marion County expectations, policies, and procedures. <br />Including getting quotes and searching out the most cost-effective means of obtaining parts and <br />materials; setting up vendors; and requesting purchase orders from PW Administration. <br />11.Keeps computer records for new equipment. <br />12.Backs-up Fleet Specialist for fuel systems, minor repair, inventory, and ordering fuel. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
