Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />13.Using information from Work Orders obtains quotes for repair work to be performed on county <br />vehicles by outside vendors including obtaining quotes in accordance with county policies and <br />procedures, making arrangements for repairs, and keeping records of repairs. <br />14.May take part in chemical hazard clean-ups, according to training given, for incidents on roads and <br />road-related properties. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Graduation from high school, or equivalent; AND <br />2.Two (2) years experience in purchasing and maintenance of stock for automotive, industrial, heavy <br />equipment and general supplies; OR <br />3.Two (2) years experience in inventory control AND <br />4.One (1) year experience in data entry, and use of parts manuals in purchasing parts and supplies; <br />OR <br />5.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Class C Oregon driver's license. Must possess, <br />> <br />at time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />Must pass a pre-employment physical examination by a county appointed physician. <br />> <br />Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />> <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />WORKING CONDITIONS <br />Work is performed in an industrial shop environment or driving a light vehicle to pick up or deliver parts or <br />supplies in a variety of inclement weather conditions. The shop environment is noisy, drafty, and dusty. <br />Incumbents frequently handle dirty and greasy parts that are sometimes heavy. Work includes the use of <br />a computer using word processing, data entry programs, and e-mail programs or programs specific to the <br />position. The work requires incumbents to have good physical condition, strength and agility. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY <br />Knowledge of: parts management methods and practices; inventory methods; the standard practices, <br />materials and methods used in maintaining, repairing and overhauling automotive and construction <br />equipment; materials and equipment commonly used in the Public Works Operations Department; and <br />applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to purchasing; parts catalogues, quality of automotive <br />brands; and purchasing methods. <br />Skill and ability to: make simple arithmetic computations; maintain inventories and keep records; carry out <br />oral and written instructions; work independently; work effectively with vendors and employees; basic <br />computer; accurately complete data entry; and operate a motor vehicle. <br />ADOPTED: <br />06/88 <br />REVISED: <br />12/93; 04/04; 04/08; 09/10; 01/13; 08/19 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
