Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />6.Coordinates training schedules and problem resolution within department to assure best use of <br />automated systems; answers a variety of routines and complex computer related questions from <br />users. <br />7.Tests and debugs new software releases before implementation; installs computer software <br />upgrades and adjusts applications for coworkers' specific needs using simple functions or macros; <br />maintains and updates user documentation. <br />8.Maintains system security; assigns and updates user codes; may serve on committee related to <br />office automation and system security. <br />9.Performs files maintenance activities such as updating records, backing up automated files, <br />transferring files between computer systems, and implementing file naming and archiving <br />standards. <br />10.May research and recommend purchase of software and hardware for assigned area; assures <br />maintenance agreements are current. <br />11.Performs operator maintenance; may coordinate repairs or new equipment installation as <br />necessary. <br />12.Participates on committees to update policies and standards; attends weekly team meetings. <br />13.Design and development of web pages. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.Two year college degree or technical school degree related to computer applications; AND <br />2.Two years of experience in computer applications related to a specific department's function(s); <br />OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />* Certain positions may require proficiency in specific software. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY <br />Knowledge of: automated system security methods and procedures; training system practices and <br />procedures; mini, micro and PC software applications; PC utilities and Standard Query Language (SQL); <br />computer hardware and features of operating systems; data integrity control. <br />Skill and Ability to: provide technical assistance or training others in the use of computer hardware and <br />software; resolve user problems; communicate effectively with user divisions and technical staff.
