<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Telecommunications <br />Technician <br />Class Code: <br />470 <br />Bargaining Unit: 08 - Marion County Employees <br />Association (Information Technology) <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$23.40 - $31.37 Hourly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Non-Exempt 07 Skilled CraftInformation Technology <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Performs full range of installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications hardware and software <br />including cabling and equipment repair. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of an Information Technology Manager or designee who establishes <br />goals and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness through the analysis of performance, <br />reports and conferences. Receives day to day assignments under the direction of the Senior <br />Telecommunications Technician. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Performs all aspects of telecommunications installation, maintenance and repair including <br />hardware and software of major telecommunication switches, voice mail, programming, cabling, <br />distribution frames, OPXS, subsystems and interconnects within the system and outside <br />telecommunications services. Responsible for fault resolution, internal cables, raisers and cross- <br />connects of the telecommunications system. <br />2.Performs the installation and maintenance of premises cable, tie lines, cross connects and circuits <br />for voice and data information transmitting systems. <br />3.Assists in the maintenance of system records reflecting full scope of services performed. Labels <br />and identifies equipment, terminals and pertinent apparatus. Keeps documentation logs, <br />regulations and software bulletins current. <br />4.Orders, stores and controls telecommunication parts and materials inventory in a cost effective <br />and timely manner at the direction of the Senior Telecommunications Technician. <br />5.Supports and facilitates the department mission to provide efficient, responsive and quality <br />services to our customers and clients. <br />6.Performs other related duties as required. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
