Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />8.Works with departments and collections agencies to coordinate the collection of debts owed to <br />Marion County. <br />9.Provides training on spreadsheets, word-processing, and database applications.Provides <br />instruction on FIMS and access to database through system inquiry. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1.A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, <br />business administration or a related field; AND <br />2.Three (3) years of responsible experience in the field of accounting, preferably in a governmental <br />Agency; OR <br />3.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />•Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Oregon driver's license. <br />•Must possess, at time of hire, and maintain an acceptable driver's record. <br />•Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Working knowledge of: generally accepted accounting principles, practices, procedures, and controls; <br />current pronouncements by the various standard setting bodies and their effect on accounting principles; <br />accounting principles appropriate for use by governmental organizations; laws and regulations affecting <br />the financial operations of governmental organizations, particularly those relating to accounting, <br />budgeting and auditing; and knowledge of financial computer applications and related software. <br />Ability to: understand and analyze the management accounting needs of a medium to large governmental <br />organization; transfer or download information between computer applications or environments to <br />provided special accounting analysis and reporting; analyze complex procedures and recommend <br />changes or revisions as necessary; evaluate and make recommendations on internal controls; <br />communicate complex financial information effectively in oral and written form; establish and maintain <br />effective working relationships with co-workers, agency personnel, county officials, and the general <br />public. <br />ADOPTED: <br />02/93 <br />REVISED: <br />02/93; 05/94; 12/99 retitled; 08/06; 03/08; 08/20 <br />MARKET REVIEW: <br />08/12; 06/16; 08/20 <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID...9/22/2020 <br />
