Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1. Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED). <br />2. Must have an acceptable driving record. <br />3. Possess a current Oregon Driver's License or, if in possession of a current out of state driver's <br /> license, must obtain Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of hire. Must possess acceptable <br /> driving history. <br />4. Must meet the following State Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) <br /> requirements: <br /> a. United States Citizen within one (1) year of employment (police, corrections, parole <br /> and probation). <br /> b. At least 21 years of age at the time of employment (police, corrections, parole and <br /> probation). <br /> c. Declared by a physician as able to perform the physical duties required by the occupation <br /> (all disciplines). Vision and hearing standards are specific to disciplines. <br /> d. Of good moral fitness, without legal conduct involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, fraud, <br /> deceit, misrepresentation, and conviction of drug and/or sex crimes (police, corrections, <br /> parole and probation, and private security professionals). <br />5. Some knowledge of and experience using a computer keyboard is highly desirable for most <br /> positions in this class. <br />6. Ability to type by touch. <br />7. Positions in this class may be required to work rotating shifts, subject to call back or other <br /> alternative work schedules. <br />8. Candidates will be subject to a personal background investigation, including, but not limited to, <br /> criminal and driving histories. <br />9. Must successfully complete all required training standards established by the Sheriff's Office or <br /> DPSST. <br />10.
