Prepare and analyze <br />accounting, fiscal and statistical statements and reports; and plan, implement and maintain financial <br />systems. <br />This position is responsible for developing program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with <br />laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer who establishes goals and reviews <br />results for conformance to department standards and legal requirements. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Provides supervision, direction, and leadership for technical and professional staff. Selects, trains, and <br />evaluates personnel; provides for staff training and professional development; works with employees to <br />correct performance deficiencies; and implements disciplinary procedures as needed. May act in the <br />capacity of the CFO in their absence. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Responsible for supervising and directing the daily operations of the chief accountant, general <br />ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable staff. Includes conducting performance <br />evaluations, initiating and implementing disciplinary actions, providing training and coaching, and <br />ensuring county and department policies are followed, recommending hiring and termination <br />decisions, and resolving employee relations issues. Develops goals and objectives for staff that <br />are in line with overall departmental goals. <br />2.Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place to protect the county's financial data and assets <br />and accurately record the transactions of the county. <br />3.Ensure documentation and reports are accurate and available for audits, budgetary development <br />and federal and state requests/requirements. <br />http://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID...9/23/2020 <br /> <br />
