<br />Marion County Class Specification BulletinPage of <br />>>> <br />Public Health Physician <br />Class Code: <br />524 <br />Bargaining Unit: 13 - Non-Supervisory <br />MARION COUNTY <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$6,112.80 - $8,192.00 Biweekly <br />$13,244.40 - $17,749.33 Monthly <br />OVERVIEW: <br />FLSA: EEOC: Department: <br />Exempt02 ProfessionalsHealth and Human Services <br />GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES <br />Provides professional medical services and consultation in the field of public health and environmental <br />health; acts as County Health Officer; provides consultation on medical issues which may impact mental <br />health, alcohol/drug, and mental retardation/developmental disabilities such as communicable disease, <br />occupational health and emergency response; does related work as required. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the Health and Human Services Administrator. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />May provide direction to nurse practitioners regarding practitioner protocols and standing orders; assists <br />in the coordination of other staff as it relates to medical responsibilities. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED <br />TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />1.Provides consultation to members of the health department management team as re-quested, <br />giving medical perspective regarding department and program plans/policies and procedures. <br />2.Works with professional staff regarding client/community policy issues requiring medical judgment <br />for all department programs; provides guidance in establishment of policy on clinical procedures <br />and protocol. <br />3.Acts as medical advisor and consultant to public health team regarding planning for public health <br />intervention in communicable disease outbreaks. <br />4.Provides medical direction to professional staff as authorized under Oregon law. <br />5.Provides clinical care to patients at specified clinics and in medical emergencies. Provides <br />disability certifications for tax purposes. <br />6.Provides medical consultation to health professionals; provides input for community planning on <br />public health issues as requested; provides public health expertise to professional, official, and <br />community groups; attends professional and official conferences and meetings, and participates in <br />programs. <br />7.Provides cremation authorizations in the absence of the Marion County Medical Examiner. <br />8.Provides medical consultation to the communicable disease public health programs. <br />9.Provides medical expertise regarding legal actions related to medical records. <br />http://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecI...10/12/2020 <br /> <br />
