MODIFIED 8ITUMEN ROOFING <br /> <br />NORTH MARION HIGH SCHOOL <br /> <br />Lay insulation board to moderate contact without <br />forcing joints. Cut board to fit neatly to perimete~ <br />and around protrusions through the roof. Any 'joint <br />over 3/8 inch wide shall be filled with insulation. <br /> <br />BroKen corners or damaged boards shall be cut out and <br />replaced with newly cut insulation pieces. <br /> <br />4. Mechanically fasten the insulation using six one-inch <br /> head nail fasteners per 2'x 4~ insulation board. <br /> <br />Insulation shall not be left exposed to the weather. <br />No more insulation shall be applied than can be <br />completely covered with the finished roofing on the <br /> <br />Install temporary water cut-offs and tie-Ins at the <br />end of each workday using #15 organic roofing felt. <br /> <br />Do not cut the staggered insulation pieces that <br />are installed. Straighten the staggered side of <br />the day's work by laying in dry pieces of cut <br />insulation., Do not attach dry pieces, <br /> <br />Install the cut-offs and tie-ins so the day's work <br />is completely protected from water entering the <br />roof system, <br /> <br />Remove the cut'offs and tie-ins at the beginning <br />of the next day's worK. Remove completely to <br />allow the whole edge of the attached insulation to <br />be observed, <br /> <br />Over the newly installed roof insulation, apply the <br />modified bitumen base ply in the following manner; <br /> <br />Starting at the Iow point of the roof, apply one 18 <br />inch wide ply, then cover that with one full 36 inch <br />wide base ply. Apply the following sheets full width, <br />lapping each ply three inches over the preceding one. <br />Set each ply into a full mopping of hot (at EUT> <br />asphalt at a rate of 28 to 25 lbs. per 188 square <br />feet, <br /> <br />2. Roofing materials shall not be installed during <br /> inclement weather. <br /> <br />Roofing materials shall not be applied when <br />moisture in any form, such as dew~ can be seen or <br />felt on ,~he surf:ace . ~t~ wh.i~h,~ho,se~,?mat~.t.~1 s . are <br />to be applied. <br /> <br />b.
