NORTH MARION HIGH SCHOOL MODIFIED BITUMEN ROOFING <br /> <br />3.83 <br /> <br /> A. <br /> <br />28 to 25 pounds per 188 square feet. The temperature <br />of the asphalt when applied must be such that~ when <br />the surfacing sheet is set into it, its temperature is <br />approximately 28 degrees Fahrenheit above the k~'l-. <br />This will assure proper fluxing of the surfacing sheet <br />coating and result in maximum bonding, The surfacing <br />sheet must be firmly and uniformly set into the <br />bitumen with all edges well sealed. <br /> <br />Loose granules are to be carried throughout the <br />surfacing sheet application to be broadcast over <br />excess bitumen seepage~ spillage, etc., in order to <br />maintain the aesthetic quality of the surfacing sheet. <br /> <br />Bitumen <br />1, Max <br /> <br />Heating requirements shall be as follows: <br /> <br />imum asphalt temperature in heating equipment: <br /> <br />Asphalt shall not be heated to the minimum <br />flashpoint. <br /> <br />The minimum finished blowing temperature shall not <br />be exceeded for more than a total of four hours, <br />for any asphalt batch or portion thereof. <br /> <br />c. Remove from the project any asphalts heated above <br /> these limits. <br /> <br />2, Temperature at time and point of application: <br /> <br />Al/ asphalts to be within 25 degrees Fahrenheit of <br />their equiviscous temperature when applied in the <br />roof system. <br /> <br />b. Asphalts not meeting this criteria are <br /> reheated or allowed to cool ~ as required. <br /> <br />3, Rate of bitumen application; <br /> <br />to be <br /> <br />Ftashino <br /> <br /> General <br /> <br /> 1, <br /> <br />Moppings for membrane, and ouer insulation: 28 to <br />25 pounds per 180 square feet for aspha;t, with <br />tolerances of -15 percent and +25 percent. <br /> <br />Installation <br /> <br />flashing specifications: <br /> <br />All flashings must be cornpleted daily, no staged <br />flashing application will be allowed. <br /> <br />All other flashings not specifically detailed herein <br />will be applied in accordance with manufacturer's <br />specifications and approved by the School District or <br />School District's Representative. <br /> <br />:,,,e?$14 14' <br /> <br /> <br />
