NORTH MARION <br /> <br />HIGH SCHOOL <br /> <br />MOOIFI ED BITUMEN <br /> <br />3,84 <br /> <br /> A. <br /> <br /> B. <br /> <br />Metal Co~pon~t~ <br /> <br />, Refer to Section 87600 for additional requirements. <br /> <br />Prior to incorporation into the roof system~ all metal <br />flanges ape to be primed. <br /> <br />Contractor shall flash plumbing pipes in the following <br /> <br />Pipes shall be flashed with new lead pipe flashing <br />turned down inside pipe· Flanges will be set into <br />asphaltic plastic roof cement over the installed <br />roofing plies, <br /> <br />Galvanized metal flanges <br />set into roof cement over <br />nailed to underlying wood <br /> <br />at scuppers~ etc.~ will be <br />the installed roof plies and <br />nailers. <br /> <br />All flanges will be flashed on the roof with one ply <br />of the smooth base membrane embedded into hot asphalt. <br />The flashing ply will extend a minimum of six inches <br />beyond flange onto the roof and shall be covered over <br />by the surfacing sheet. Seal the base of the pipe <br />with a troweling of roof cement. <br /> <br />Install new 24 gauge metal scupper flashing through <br />existing scupper openings at parapet walls in the <br />following manner: <br /> <br />Prior to scupper installation, install the base ply, <br />extending into scupper openings. <br /> <br />Torch-apply modified bitumen membrane oven the wall <br />only at the scupper area~ but large enough to extend <br />beyond &ll scupper flanges at least four inches. <br /> <br />Trowel plastic roof cement to the underside of the <br />scupper flanges and about halfway along the bott~ <br />side of the scupper. <br /> <br />Insert the scupper into the wall opening and fasten to <br />the wall, using appropriate fasteners through tin <br />disKs~ and to underlying wood nailers using galvanized <br />nails, <br /> <br />After priming scupper flanges, strip in and apply base <br />flashing oven the scuppers· Cut out the scupper <br />opening. <br /> <br />Apply three-course ~pplication of woven <br />fabric embedded into and covered over with flashing <br />grade roof cement centered ove~ the cut edges o~ the <br />flashing at the scupper opening. <br /> <br />87514 - 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
