achieve this credit may be $49,200 including the cost of implementing the Earth Smart
recommendarions.
• Construcrion IAO Manaeement Level 1 and Leve12 - John Gremmels estimated that it would
cost $1,500 to install the required filters and write and implement a Construction IAQ
management plan.
~ Permanent Air Monitorine Svstem - A cost proposal of $3,000 was submitted to monitor CO
and C02 for each HVAC unit for a total cost of $15,000 (five units).
The total estimated cost to achieve these additional points is approximately $65,025 including the
cost of implementing the Earth Smart recommendarions.
IV. Discuss Funding for ldentified Costs
This will be discussed when a formal cost proposal is submitted.
V. Determination on How to Proceed
Whether or not to proceed with LEED certification depends on the County's decision to
participate in the PGE Earth Smart program. Even though the PGE Earth Smart recommendarions
are likely to be implemented, two of the needed points hinge on having access to the DOE2 study.
It may be possible to purchase the DOE2 study from PGE. If this is possible and funding can be
obtained to purchase the study, LEED certificarion may still be achieved.
Assuming the County decided to participate in the PGE Earth Smart program or the DOE2 study
can be purchased, Leonard Lodder will put together a formal cost proposal to achieve the
outstanding points. He will forward this proposal to Holly Stirnkorb in preparation for the
meeting on Thursday, July 1, 1999. It is anricipated that a decision can be made on whether or not
to proceed with the LEED certification at that meeting.
If the County decides not to participate in the PGE Earth Smart program and the DOE2 study
cannot be purchased, it may be more difficult to achieve LEED certificarion.
