have a meeting in the middle of July, where they will go to Woodburn
and tour that office. They will be meeting with WE Group and Randy to
go over the report done by WE Group. Vyoodburn is also a leased
office. They are expecting not to have their report to the steering commi-
ttee until the end of August.
Courts/Security:
This sub committee has met several times and have several ideas. They
will have two recommendations for the committee in August. The first
one is for Courts to stay downtown and the second would be to con-
struct a new Courthouse. They feel the voters are more likely to vote
yes to a new Courthouse then an Administrative Building and it would be
to expensive to convert this into a secured Courthouse.
There was a concern from one of the committee members. There is no
real analysis showing the pro and cons of keeping all the Courts down-
town. The concern was that a decision was made without looking at all
the options.
Dog Control:
This sub committee has met several times and are pianning to have their
last meeting in late July. They will have a recommendation soon after
that in mid August.
There was a concern that there was no one from the Humane Society on
this committee. The request to have someone from the Humane Society
was made at the May 27th meeting. Ken Roudybush stated, there was
someone at the last meeting from there, but he didn't know who she
was. Ken Sherman stated "he was involved with the drive to help raise
money for the new Humane Society facility and he has a concern with
Dog Control not trying to work with the H.S. to acquire space in their
new facility. Ken S. is hearing conflicting information between the two
entities. Dog Control is saying they want our money but they don't want
us out there. It was suggested, to get key people from both entities
together for a meeting and work all the issues. There is concern with
Dog Control submitting a report with so many issues unresolved between
the two. Ken R. said there is going to be a meeting with H.S. and at that
time they will have something in write from this meeting, but was unsure
of the date. Ken S. would like to know when this meeting will be taking
place.
. .y
