Therefore, it is recommended that a new county administration <br />building be constructed in the Senator Block, and adjoined to the <br />present Courthouse via either a skybridge or tunnel. Our <br />recommendation is driven by this logic: <br />1. It is most cost effective and efficient to have all county <br />administrative departments in the same building. <br />2. The current courthouse cannot be remodeled to provide <br />. enough space to accommodate these departments. <br />3. The overall cost to implement our recommendation is at <br />least $2.4 million less than that of the Courts Sub- <br />Committee. <br />Not discussed at length with, nor adopted by the Sub-Committee is <br />the possibility of a new building added to the existing Courthouse <br />which will house both the administrative services and the Courts. <br />This may provide for the space and service needs of both groups <br />without being confined to the size of the existing building. <br />
