f ,. <br />(-~ <br />FACILITY STEERING COMMITTEE MESTING <br />March 15, 1995 <br />PRESENT: Ken Sherman, Randy Curtis, David Glennie, Maynard <br />Hammer, Fritz Skirvin, Mike Murray, Valerie Vollmar, <br />Bob McCune, Gary Heer, Bob Royer, Larry Oglesby, Starr <br />Garland, Ruth Johnson, Ken Roudybush, Mark Caillier, <br />Jack Munro and Lydia Buchanan <br />GUEST: Bob Hansen, Billy Wasson and Ed Cavialle <br />MINUTES: Approved <br />PUBLIC WORKS: <br />Public Works Director, Bob Hansen was at the meeting to <br />discuss their recommendation for moving Public Works <br />operations out of the Downtown area. Public Works <br />would construct a new 18,000 (gross) square foot facil- <br />ity at their Roads Campus on Silverton Road. They had <br />an outside consultant confirm the need to consolidate <br />operations at the shops. <br />Records will be automated to provide better service to <br />the downtown users. Public Works will also continue to <br />have a small liaison office of staff in downtown, <br />preferably in conjunction with the Community Develop- <br />ment Department. <br />REVIEW OF FINAL REPORT: <br />The draft report was reviewed by the committee. A <br />revised report with the changes underlined will be sent <br />out prior to the next meeting. <br />The following is a summary of the changes requested by <br />the committee: <br />l. The Introduction should be rewritten giving <br />more information about the background and scope of <br />the committee's work. <br />2. The reports on each facility project should be <br />modified so the recommendations appear at the <br />beginning of each section. <br />3. The committee also wanted more information on <br />square footage for some of the proposed facili- <br />ties. <br />
